There are endless combinations to creating your own smoothie bowls and topping with your favourite seeds and superfoods. This raspberry smoothie bowl provides two portions of fruit, rich in fibre and phytonutrients.
The chia seeds, hemp hearts and cacao nibs sprinkled on top provide protein, iron, magnesium and omega 3 fats.
Omega 3 fats are essential for brain, heart and joint health and a nutrient that is often lacking or out of balance in our diet due to too much omega 6 fats from fried or high fat processed foods and vegetable oils such as sunflower oil, which promote inflammation.
Check out my full guide to essential omega 3 fats, including vegan omega 3 sources on a plant-based diet and recommendations for supplementing.
Magnesium is important for nerve and muscle function.
